We only have this one world. As a service provider for the healthcare system, we take our responsibility, to make our contribution to sustainable development, seriously. The components of the medmehr sustainability strategy, inspired by the IHK Sustainability Award 2023, are the sustainability pledge and the "green health LAB" real laboratory.
medmehr GmbH is a medical provider. Besides maintenance as one of the key services, medmehr offers a service package which includes everything, from acquisition to disposal of devices – mainly for hospitals and seniors' facilities.
The holistic, lifecycle-oriented approach is built on two fundamental pillars. Besides digitalization as one fundamental pillar, which has been developed and implemented early on through an in-house software, sustainability represents the second fundamental pillar. With our sustainability promise we commit ourselves to create and develop a medmehr sustainability strategy which considers all of our processes and workflows concerning all four sustainability pillars (ecology, economy, society, politics). To define and accomplish our short-, middle-, and long-term goals, a situation analysis concerning identification and evaluation of performance indicators is one of the biggest challenges.
We made it our mission to not only imply sustainability at medmehr internally, but to also involve our stakeholders, from clients and manufacturers to administration and more. We aim to participate with our positive societal contribution for the implementation of the sustainability strategy within advancement and development in research and product ideas.
As part of our sustainability strategy, we have examined the company in terms of sustainability. Under the direction of a sustainability officer, workshops were held with the entire workforce. In addition to holding an ideas contest and identifying our CO2 drivers, optimization measures were developed and implemented in order to achieve both, quick wins and long-term added value. Latter, internally and for our customers. All of these components are updated and adapted ongoing. The possibility of digitalization supports our strategy in areas such as saving in paper waste and in minimizing travel distance. We also want to offer this added value available to our customers in the future, especially towards healthcare facilities. By using future-oriented technologies and processes such as our digitalization offering and acting in an environmentally conscious manner, we are actively contributing to sustainability and want to make a positive contribution to society. The medmehr sustainability promise, which is firmly anchored in the corporate policy, commits medmehr to it in all daily activities.

Innovative and sustainable life cycle management—a constant availability of fully functional hygiene and medical technology can only be guaranteed by taking a long-term, holistic view from a functional, strategic, and business perspective. We therefore accompany you throughout the entire life cycle. This means support and assistance from procurement, through installation, commissioning and instruction, to optimized operation and professional and environmentally friendly disposal.
1. Procurement
We support you in the procurement of new devices. In addition to purchasing, we also offer you the option of rental or leasing models on demand. This allows you optimize your purchases.
2. Installation, commissioning, and instruction
We carry out the installation of your devices. Installation, commissioning, and instruction of your employees, including documentation, are all part of our service. Thanks to our "datamehr" device management software, you can access your documents anytime and anywhere.
3. Maintenance, servicing
To prevent accidents and issues, our experienced technicians carry out regular maintenance, safety and functional tests (SFP), safety checks (STK), metrological checks (MTK), and repair. Should a problem arise, we will take care of it. We have set up a 24/7 service for this purpose.
4. Optimized operation
Our specialists will train your staff (basic training) to ensure that user errors do not cause unnecessary equipment failures and that day-to-day operation runs safely and smoothly. Of course, this does not replace manufacturer training, but it does help to gain a basic understanding of the appliances.
5. Environmentally friendly disposal
Our sustainability promise includes professional and environmentally friendly disposal of your appliances. In the event of a necessary decommissioning due to defects or a new purchase, our team will take care of the dismantling and disposal of your devices.
